We hope this message finds you well. We are excited to share with you, new opportunities for your students to join our university through the Summer Programs that we are offering in 2024.
During June and July, we will be offering two programs: Apacheta and Spanish in Chile. These two opportunities give students the opportunity to learn a new language, along with getting immerse into the vibrant student life at UC Chile.
*Both programs will be delivered if we meet a minimum of students enrolled for each program
APACHETA
It is a four-week program that integrates a Spanish course with 10 seminars about doing business in Latin America and its cultural perspective. Interested students do not need to have an advanced level of Spanish, since the course is aimed for CEFR A1 students. Also, the seminars will be delivered in English.
By the end of the program, students will receive 10 UC Chile credits, which translates into 6 ECTS credits.
This program will take place from June 17th to July 14th, 2024. Applications will be received until April 30th, 2024.
The topics of the seminars include:
- Doing Business in Latin America
- Understanding the political and economic scene and its projection
- Latin American marketing and sales
- Leadership, negotiation and network enhancement in Latin American emerging markets
- Ecosystem, entrepreneurship and innovation in Latin America
- International trade: importation and exportation
- Intercultural Mediation in Latin America
- Latin American cultural diversity
- Understanding the difference between multiculturalism, pluriculturalism and interculturalism
- Definition of Intercultural Mediation
- Conflict management techniques and tools to deal with conflict both within the groups and between groups and society
- Implication of intercultural mediation in business
SPANISH IN CHILE
This program offers one Spanish course, depending on the student level (CEFR A1 to B2 are available) in a 3-week period. Classes are performed by teachers from the UC Chile Spanish Program. Along with this, it includes three cultural activities, orientation (welcome and farewell meeting) and social activities with UC Chile students.
This program awards 10 UC Chile credits, which translates into 6 ECTS credits.
The application deadline for the program is June1, 2024.

What services are included in these programs?
Both programs include support services from a coordinator of the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs. Also, students attending these programs will receive:
